Conference goal

The primary goal of the conference is to support schools to consider how they might do things differently and better rather than more of the same to achieve improvement in student literacy and numeracy outcomes and levels of student engagement in low socio-economic status school communities across New South Wales.

The goals of the conference are to:

  • support capacity building in low socio-economic status school communities
  • challenge thinking and refine practice
  • focus on equity
  • engage a diverse audience of teachers, school leaders, students, parents and community members
  • be eco-friendly.

Conference delegates

Innovate-educate-celebrate is open to school communities, the wider education community and community organisations and strategic partners that support student learning in low socio-economic context.

The conference is open to public schools in New South Wales interested in equity issues in low socio-economic status school communities.  Schools, particularly those supported by Priority Schools Programs, are encouraged to attend by sending a representative team.  The team may include a combination of teacher, a principal, a school executive member, a community member and a student .
